No Fool Like a Fooled Again Fool (part four)

No Fool Like a Fooled Again Fool (part four)

New forged links of debt, betray
Self respect and basic human dignity
To gain a share in smug debased conformity
This brave new world is flat, the
Cat is fat fed on cost of liberty lost

No Fool Like a Fooled Again Fool (part three)

No Fool Like a Fooled Again Fool (part three)

May we stir fire on ancient grate
Rattle chain to demonstrate the fate
Of freedom lost to vast expropriate
Who blandly can await the next tactic
Of a tyrant state, bleed as chafe

No Fool Like a Fooled Again Fool (part two)

No Fool Like a Fooled Again Fool  (part two)

So great so seems the case of late
Of late great call to participate
Will all subject to edict moderate
I ask now quickly while yet allowed
Who killed drive, desire, determinate
Choked off the urge to recreate

No Fool Like a Fooled Again Fool (part one)

Shall we forbid exploration further
Asking after answers can be civil
Oh, but what of uncivilized guest
Topical tar and quicksand pit
Shall we map incognita terra
No mans land closed to free debate
Close mind and mouth deem risk

So, What Do You Think of The Buffett Rule?

We do, here in the U.S., and most developed countries,
and I use developed loosely, have a progressive tax structure; roughly the more you make, the higher your tax rate is. is that good or bad? Theoretically, we shouldn’t half to have it or need it. But, for a combination of reasons, we do. So, again, the Buffett Rule? I say yes. Once our economy improves, we have lobby reform, term limits and means testing, and, presumably, much better judgment, we won’t need it. I know what you’re thinking: that day will never come. Yeah, that’s probably true. So, what does our future look like?

The Forgotten Guest Wanders Toward Your Party

The Forgotten Guest Wanders Toward Your Party

The forgotten man wanders toward your party
Hears on and off again musical attempts
Wonders at the majesty of mountains feels
The love of woman man breaking free
And you’re sure so say you all so sure
You know just how to throw a party
Yet forget on whose behalf and the guest
Of honor wanders past and knows it cannot last

I Promise You Thorns

I Promise You Thorns

No place for quiet dreams unfinished
Please do not wake until desperation fails
No place among our studied selves
To store fact once verified, just and end
Beneath success must failure cross
Past final loss for sacrifice to gain
No time for saving deteriorated vision
As all around darkness empties silence
Buries deep those awful sounds
No place among the living worlds
For children’s broken faith to heal
Just an end to unkept promises
Some sense of caution rear to love
No place upon the glassy mirror
For the slimy squeak just and end
Look at my disturbed sleep creation
Can you be that dying snail
With your last liquid quiver help
Me to my broken shovel have you
Seen my sandbox on my pail

Those Eyes Open Windows

Those Eyes Open Windows

Those eyes open windows
Warm and radiant pure
Passages for out bond
Now so bright and strong
Then lost forever gone
Closed by the final entrance
I look yet from my eyes
I have known lose lost
Tears and clung to fading
Forms, and some force melt
Away deep grief, as far
Flung sadness dissipates the
Will to recollect, an eager
Anguish freshly keen goes
Dull, after all our bond
Was life ongoing, then lost
Forever gone, you knew
I gave my very best yet
I look through love lost
Tears and cling to faded forms,
I’ll never quit forgetting
The magic that once shone

Social Liberal and Fiscal Conservative

Am I the only one? A social liberal and a fiscal conservative?
It seems, at least most, people are nearly all the way, one way or the other. It seems natural to want people to be able to do what they want to, yet to be conservative in looking to conserve national resources. It seems natural for people to pursue happiness, yet to be prudent in their consumption and spending. Where’s the leadership we need to guide us in this direction? I hope it appears soon.

Our Love Lives Will Not Cross Again

Our Love Lives Will Not Cross Again

You didn’t care about me
Now I’ll never have that
Senseless loss again
Giving to much under-appreciated
Our love lives will not cross again
