These Beautiful Creatures Born In Mystery

These Beautiful Creatures Born In Mystery

These beautiful creatures born in mystery
Emerging from nothing on a thought train
You may have one or it may have you
Can you let them wonder while I ask
Where else could we belong as well
Conceiving beauty in creation with a
Lightness beyond faintest awares
How else is life better undone than
By grasping at imagined shadows
More than butterflies or rainbows
The colors of life elude capture
Its science so called charlatan
We beautiful creatures born in mystery
Fly best on wings of dreams

A Thousand Things To Do

A Thousand Things To Do

A thousand things to do
Add more gladly done for you
Yet not one I know need help
Of any other man
For others serve not me or you
They seek to help themselves
May leave us worse for misdeeds
Things poorly served past all repair
Acts moving slight to grave
May we from such help be spared
Our ears deaf to save save save

On This Road We Don’t Remember

On This Road We Don’t Remember

On this road we don’t remember
Our beginning on this road
Life goes on beyond its end
Toward mysterious surprises
Please don’t be intimidated
Fear is not your friend
It feeds a creed of terror
Like a river to its sea
Not a premise of salvation

We All Want To Be Perfect Angels

We All Want To Be Perfect Angels

We all want to be perfect angels
Stand up on high sing with the sky
What we are in confident dream
We wake to forget yet aren’t what we seem
So angels are mute shuffle the dust
In between perfect confident dream
We wait without hope of relief
When always nearby perfect angels
Offer to help us gain that release
Fly cross the sky sing out on high
We can join lesser lives touch heaven’s
Surprising perfection in confident ways
Wake to recall those confident stays
Problems so vexing all will dissolve
In truth we will be all that and more
Bring tears of joy to eyes that adore
Our voices send healing those ears ache to hear
We can inspire mute angels to take us
Where outside of confident pathways
We may not go alone, join force in a host
Always improving better from lesser
Perfect almost I’m not the only one
Sensing movement improvement room at the inn

Packaged in the Freezer Isle

Packaged in the Freezer Isle

Packaged in the freezer isle
Of your grocery store
Picked tender fresh young innocence
Ready for your desecration
A side dish to the lamb
It’s getting close to Christmas
Just ignore the painful scream
Trapped underneath the mapping
The broken desperate dream
Peace and joy for evermore
Frozen in a section
Of your favored store

Just by looking back
It must be that you know
I’m out here all alone
Standing on the tracks
Just by looking at me
Don’t wonder I’m alright
Jumping off some bridge
Patching up my soul
On a frozen ladder
Shielded by the night
Just by tiny gestures
You get by over me
Asking how I am
When it must be that you know
I’m wandering in traffic
Somewhere trying to get home
Directing all the madness
Thank you for the sublove
I prefer that it be known
I prefer the distance
Out here all alone
No one needs a greeting card
No one wants the shallow
Halfway not quite hated
Just unwanted at the table
It must be that you know

Try To See It Plain For Heaven’s sake

Try To See It Plain For Heaven’s sake

Try to see it plain for heaven’s sake
Cold-blooded bred lies disguised
Such an awful fact despised
Just try to hear it clear for heaven’s sake

Looks who’s hand holds the empty bag
Who’s listening to promises fade
Left out while the others played
Left the bill that must be paid

I Could Get Some Of That Old Fire Back

I Could Get Some Of That Old Fire Back

I could get some of that old fire back
Almost be excited lost in wonder
Totally unfrightened thinking
What’s going to happen today
Stand on the same old feet once small
Possibly I could handle one more
Before sinking deeper into feet too large
On a world now cold and strange
I could be grown down to capacity
Stop spilling over with fears
Could you help me find a way
Is that the more you’re looking for
Warm the gaps between astral maps
We could get all of that old fire back
Be excited lost in wonder
Today should we light the universe
Is that one more we’re looking for

Super Cynical Man Seen It All

Super Cynical Man Seen It All

Super cynical man seen it all
Super glide freefall fly
Chatter to heard ears heard it all
Learned it on the hardway land
Looking for one honest man
Listened close has super vision
Super close has listen vision
Wants no needs to settle down
Won’t no can’t crowd the crown
Numbers fail to measure can
He ever find that honest man

The Spirit of Mr. Grim

The Spirit of Mr. Grim

The spirit of Mr. Grim
Determined to make war
On the faces of his minions
Moving toward the door
In an oversheltered mind
Seeking campaign triumph
An idea of a different kind
Had formed to let him in
To destroy all opposition
Summons Mr. Grim
Raise up with simple words
Slogans known to stir
Conjure up dare disturb
The remedial Mr. Grim
War will solve our problem
An idea of a different kind
Freedom is not free
Utter some such hateful curse
With ultimate conviction
Once raised the spirit of Mr. Grim
Will vanquish any opposition
